Maya Angelou Thinks Barack Lacks Experience

Says Angelou:

“As a child, Hillary Clinton was taught that all God’s children are equal, so as a mother she understood that her child wasn’t safe unless all children were safe.

I know what kind of president Hillary Clinton will be because I know who she is. Hillary Clinton has always been a strong woman and a passionate protector of families. For 35 years, that’s exactly what she has been doing.

Each generation of African Americans stands on the shoulders of those who came before. Today, the challenges facing us threaten the dreams we have had for our children. We need a president with the experience and strength to meet those challenges.

I am inspired by Hillary Clinton’s commitment and courage — a daughter, a wife, a mother — my girl.”

YES! For Maya!
WOW this Democratic nod, is really dividing the people. I can't want to see what happens!

Question of the week {1/23/08-1/30/08} Who's to know?

{Who's to know}

Can you date someone who openly tells you they are HIV positive? Deal Breaker? Do you trust the men who say they are negative to be telling the truth? Are you safer with the guy with whom you know your limits, or the guy who you must trust is telling you the truth (if anything is shared at all)?

As I sat in my house in a raging heat, thinking lovingly of the last time I had sexual intercourse, I shake and sutter. I don't lack intimacy, I am very unique in that way. I have an abundance of love around me. Moments with lovers and lover friends. "Ill explain that lata" Oh how I miss touch, aromas, sweat. Smelling him on my upper lip in the am.

BTW I told my Mother about my blog the other day, now she wants to know the URL. Now as I write I think of Diane reading this and I want to die. Love ya Ma, Skip the parts you can’t stomach. Your Child is 30!

As much as I do miss a good session, (for all those wondering its has been about 2-3 months) Laid down eyes up, tracing the lines in the ceiling, I wonder when will I will next get some? Then I read this article!

NEW YORK -- New Yorkers who think they're not at risk for HIV might want to think again.
The Health Department said Thursday that 18 percent of the city's adults are at risk for HIV because of multiple sex partners or drug injection. But 92 percent of that group think they're safe.
A department survey found that -- among people with multiple sex partners -- 60 percent don't use condoms all the time.
The health commissioner, Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, urges that everyone learn their HIV status, and that health care providers offer testing.
The study, which uses a citywide survey of blood samples to estimate HIV prevalence, finds that about 1.4 percent of New York City adults are infected with HIV -- nearly four times the national rate.
You can read the full text of the study at www.aidsonline.com.
Below are activities that could increase the risk of contracting HIV:
• Sharing needles.
• Anal intercourse is 5 times riskier than vaginal intercourse and 50 times riskier than receptive oral sex.
• Insertive anal or vaginal intercourse is 10 times riskier than insertive oral sex.
• Oral sex carries some risk for both partners, but is less risky than other penetrative sexual activities.
• Condoms greatly reduce the spread of HIV for both partners in anal, vaginal

Question of the Week! January 9th to January 16th

As I was sifting thou my emails earlier this week. I came across one that stood out to me. "Why do gay men hate each other?" It was for a discussion group, that I've had gone to in the past, but with in the last few years have pass over. Generally when I read things like this, I feel that they don’t have anything to do with me. This question was a little different as positive as I can be at as a person, I can be just as surly and curt. Saying that, there are more then a few folks on the "I can’t stand you list". As I enter 30, Hate is something I'm trying to move past. Yes! People play seasons in your life, but to hate them is wrong, to pay them dust, is altogether another beast.

This leads me to the question of the week!

Why gay men hate each other?

Hate is a universal understanding, we all know that, but in such a small community Why so much hate? I’m guilty of this whole heartedly I’ll cut someone off in an instant. But maybe the universe is trying to eke its way in, and put a little sunshine in my life. We will see. Never disregard the Olive Branch!

os m'I diputS!

So I’m stupid! I know this is news to no one. But I have spotted the chair, and I plan to sit in it! Face the wall, neatly but yet pride fully wears my dense cap, tall and pointy, even Klan like, and do my time. Okay ok back story here, I was with a friend this weekend. Well shit, I was on a date, with someone. I’m getting to know. Not Seeing! Getting to know. We all know it’s about the wording. That’s such an American thing. I remember living in Argentina, and the customs was so different, if you where with someone you where with them case closed, subject for another time. I digress. Picture it the Whitney Museum 2:30 in the afternoon, sky deep, strong, pending downpour, leather wasn’t needed in this wind; goose feathers would have to do the trick. Kara Walker was on my mind, $15 and half of me wanting to enter.

Uncle Tom’s Cabin ----- Birth of a Nation.
Hung from the fortifications, I could hear the cries of slaves in wall fixtures; I’ve grown angry, hurt, fulsome and miserable. Mothers throwing there offspring overboard, shit this aint even the right period. 400 years, 150 free, deprogramming on decline and people say out loud, why do they still live in it? How did they take over the whole country, we spoke different launges. Shaka Zulu tired, but it was too late. We took care of the rest; Genocide is the Motherland sir name now.

So I’m stupid! Is it the TV? That has slowed down my pace. I know my life this season will be mostly set up by design, so I’m allowing the winds to guide me, and I plan to shut my mouth, and let the creator handle this solely for a few months. Get out your way young man has been the theme. Thank you Ms. Walker! When I’m allowed to get out this chair, I will get right back to studying. I Promise!

Lord be with Us all!!!!!

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system (the body's defense against infection). HIV uses healthy white blood cells to replicate itself, breaking down the immune system and leaving the body more susceptible to illness. Without treatment, most people infected with HIV become less able to fight off germs that we are exposed to every day. Someone who has HIV is called "HIV positive" or "HIV+".

AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is a late stage of HIV infection. An HIV positive person is diagnosed with AIDS when their immune system is so weakened that it is no longer able to fight off illness. People with immune deficiency are much more vulnerable to infections such as pneumonia and various forms of cancer. These diseases are called opportunistic infections because they take advantage of the weakened immune system. Ultimately, people do not die from AIDS itself, they die from one or more of these opportunistic infections. It is believed that all people who become HIV+ will eventually have AIDS.

What other STDs should I be concerned about?
HIV is not the only sexually transmitted disease you need to protect yourself against. Most STIs show few symptoms, but all can be properly diagnosed through doctor's exams and tests. STIs can increase the risk of HIV transmission through symptoms such as open sores and biological changes that happen in your body as a result of an STI infection. The most common STIs are:
• HPV (Genital Warts)
• Chlamydia
• Genital Herpes
• Gonorrhea
• Hepatitis B
• Syphilis
• Trichomoniasis
To find out more about Sexually Transmitted Diseases, their symptoms, testing and treatment, visit http://www.health.state.ny.us/diseases/aids/testing/
If you are in the NY area. Otherwise google testing sites in your state.

Question of the week January 3rd--January 8th {Something Better}

Why do so many of us suffer from the same disease? I don’t mean HIV/AIDS.
Why do people (men) always think in relationships there will be something better that will come along?
